Application
Heating mantles are extensively used in laboratories and industries in carrying out operation like distillation digestion fraction etc particularly when inflammable liquids like organic solvents are used. These also find wide range of application in research institution quality control laboratories of chemical and pharmaceutical industries etc.
Description
Heating mantles are made of rigid aluminium housing although this is costlier than conventional mild steel housing aluminium will have better resistance to corrosion and also elegant in appearance.
The heating element used consists of an insulated Nichrome resistance wire having an inner core which in turn is attached to a knitted glass fabric. The heating element so designer operators at block heat transferring the heat to contents of the flask chiefly by conduction ensuring. Uniform heat transfer thus avoiding bumping heating element covers the flask to its equator and the knitted heating surface is sufficiently resilient to any small deviation in size.
Booking of heating elements and shape are incorporated in heating mantles by the above referred design.
