This is indispensable in every laboratory as it can be used for the most routine laboratory works, generally carried out with gas burner. It is so designed that this apparatus can be used for evaporation of solutions in china dishes and also such purpose as heating test tubes crucibles small flasks beakers immaterial of their shape. It can be conveniently held hand at the base while in operation to heat columns etc.

This is cylindrical in shape and is housed in thick stainless steel cylinder. The heater coil is conically shaped and consists of spirally wound nichrome coil enclosed in refractory case. The element temperatures in this case are 800 - 1000°C. As such to prevent undue temperature rise holes in the lower housing are provided for air circulation. A cowl is fitted to the top to deflect radiant heat aways from hand.
